Welcome to the Winter of Woolly Love 2020!

We know some of our crafting crew enjoy to take on a small woolly/crafty project over the Christmas holidays, so are launching our Winter of Woolly Love.

This year we would like to focus on our Kinship Hugs

We are asked from time to time to help families or individuals within our own Woolly Hugs’ community going through incredibly difficult, bleak or sad times, by sending them a blanket full of love and comfort. We see these as helping folk who need support and compassion. Can you help us? We would be so very grateful. We would love to collect 12 inch ( or 6) squares in Stylecraft Special DK to make blankets, and would like to ficus on the two palettes as shown here. Our Traditional palette and Classic palette. This will help us in compiling and donating to families. Just from these colours please, simple, complex, single colours, multi (within a collection), all very welcome indeed. We also welcome knitters and crocheters equally to this project.

To Pistey, Knotty and the wonderful woolly hugs ladies,
I have received the blanket this morning and I honestly can’t thank you wonderful ladies (and men if applicable!) enough. Its absolutely stunning and honestly, it’s arrived at the perfect time as its nearly 12 months since I lost my beautiful Alex I am struggling as you can imagine. I can’t wait to curl up in the evenings with it wrapped around me.
I shall treasure it for the rest of my life.

133. Stunning scarf in beautiful Scheepjes Swirl ‘Caramel Core Blimey’ It looks good enough to eat!! This super soft yarn is gorgeous. Drapes so well and has been crocheted beautifully! 60% cotton, 40% acrylic. Will find washing instructions. Measures approximately 145cm by 42cm. Amazing!

A last wonderful opportunity to commission a beautiful watercolour portrait of a favourite cuddly toy. This might be yours, your child’s, grandchild’s, grandparent, that bit is totally up to you!

Caroline has such empathy and talent. You will need to supply her with a good quality photo for her to paint from and a bit of information about the toy, which she will reproduce. Your special painting will arrive ready mounted. Mounts are 20.5 x 15 cm or 8 x 6 inches. The picture itself is postcard sized.

She has already done several of these precious paintings. More pics will be shown on the Auction Site.

Everyone who has already received these has been blown away. I must say personally I am overjoyed and was teary when I saw our daughter’s. So have a think about this wonderful offer. We anticipate them being snapped up!
