The Blanket for Trazzletoes

And the blanket… our blanket… it’s so beautiful. We have all sat together amazed at the skill and poring over the individual squares, looking at it brings such happy memories of Pokemon hunts, giggles, cuddles, sunny days by the sea, smiles and love.

We are all overwhelmed by how beautiful it is and have already spent hours snuggled together under it, comforted by it.

Thank you, and Knotty, and the crafters and the donors. It is perfect and wonderful and a beautiful reminder of our wonderful Joseph.

Thank you xxx

Joseph touched the hearts and lives of so many, as did his mum, ours included.  Many of us followed their ongoing journey, that rocky old road, dedicating our ‘splodges of light’ around the globe as we thought of them, always sending love. Devastatingly their beautiful boy died from neuroblastoma in July. Words don’t seem enough. We are so sorry. J will live long in our memories, bless him. xx

With the love and support from so many, we made two blankets and were so pleased to be able to get a photo of them together, on the left is the blanket for the family and on the right the blanket we will auction for the charity of their choice which is Candlelighters. This auction will take place parallel to our Spring Craft Sale in March.  Thank you so much everyone xxxx

The Blanket for JuanPotatoTwo

The blanket came today. I waited until the dc were all home – I have 4 (ds1 – 24, dd – 22, ds2 – 20 and ds3 – 13) – before I opened it. We all held it out between us and for about ten minutes none of us spoke (which is unprecedented). And then we went and stood in Mark’s dialysis unit (which is actually a small conservatory off the kitchen) which probably sounds strange, but he spent so much time in there that it felt fitting. And we just talked about this beautiful blanket that complete strangers had gone to so much time, trouble and expense to make for us. We were looking and talking (and crying!) for the best part of an hour – so much thought has gone into every square, it’s really humbling. The pictures truly don’t do it justice and I’m hoping to be able to pm everybody involved individually to thank them. But for now, please know that we are so touched and so grateful and that we love our Woolly hug. Xx

It’s arrived!!! So, so wonderful. I cried. The kids love it too – every square. It’s so appropriate – perfect. Can’t thank you all enough. This is one of the things that will get us through this winter. The kids have just taken it downstairs to snuggle under it whilst they watch a movie.

So many thanks again- to everyone xxxxxx

The Blanket for Endofthelinefinally

To Knotty and Pistey and all the wonderful mumsnetters who contributed their time, skills and donations to create the most beautiful memory blanket.
It arrived this morning.

It is a truly gorgeous creation and I will treasure it always.
The understanding and kindness I have received from the people on the bereavement board has got me through the worst year of my life.

As my son’s first anniversary approaches I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

My thoughts are with all the others who have lost their loved ones and I hope you will all feel comforted by the love and support on mumsnet.
