With your love and support are repeating last years’ crafting activity for the Ukrainian children when we see them in Poland this Christmas. It was so successful last year, between everyone there was the most stupendous amount of fabric strips to use, truly gorgeous, interesting patterns, single colour, textures, SPARKLE! It felt like a very luxurious activity, and that was perfect for these children.
So we are coming requiring help again please.
Christmas wreaths 2026!
This is a super straightforward, super effective activity and creates something very beautiful for their families. Even better it will pack flat for the journey home.
We need your help please! We shall need you cutting!
We need 6 inch long by 1 inch strips of fabric/ ribbon. Straight cut please. If using a fat quarter, 5 inch is fine, but 6 inch is ideal if possible. We are going bold and blingy, zingy and FABULOUS! Plain, patterned, textured, sparkly.
Any of these colours please, just using there SSDK pegs for ideas
The 8 inch wire base will be their starting point and then the children tie the strips on and fill up the space. We have added a few packs to our Amazon Wishlist if anyone would like to support in this way. THANK YOU!
When preparing to post, please get your parcel as flat as possible so lay strips flat in sandwich bags. It worked super well last year. This will help us get the max out of our available luggage space!
Last year we were able to send a crafting kit of leftover resources back into Ukraine to enable more children to take part. If were can do that again it will spread the Christmas cheer even further.
